TASK 8: PLE

STAR: Rileigh

In my presentation, I explained the 9 tools that we have put in out diagram. I presented which tools we use the most, how we use the tool (through an app or online), what we do with this tool (write texts, read content from others, send create pictures, etc.), where we use this tool (home, university, or the tram/bus), and what we use to access this tool (iPad, laptop, or phone). Following my demonstration of our diagram, I answered a few questions that Linda presented to me. The total time of the presentation was about 7 minutes.

ROSALÍA: Facilitator

The organization of this week´s task was quite the easiest one, because each of us had to answer and

think about our personal relationship with the tools. We discussed in class about our results and, as they

were similar at most cases with respect to the other´s, we didn´t find it difficult to agree when creating a

common PLE.

ANALYST: Lucía

The week is over, and that means that we see each other once again to find out a little more about our

activity and how we have felt doing it.

The best part, where we have learned and reflected the most, has been when we have realized that,

although we have used the same tools, each one used them at different times and with different devices.

In addition, with rileigh we have realized that it depends on the country, the way of using them is very

different. It has even been super interesting to see how she hardly knew any tools.

This activity has been very interesting, but something that has cost us more and for what could be the

worst part of the work has been being able to organize the information well in the diagram, including

everything that Linda asked us to do.

Not everything was going to be work, there have been very good moments, because we have done the

work through video calls and in addition to doing the activity, we have had fun. Having fun is one of

the most important things, because that way you will surely enjoy your work much more.

I believe that this work has not brought bad moments to the group, on the contrary. But we can say that

an overwhelming moment was when we had to agree and discuss the diagram, because each one had

different ideas.

From our point of view, we have learned a lot about the tools and how to use them. Also, we can use

them from various devices and spaces, and even on the PLE. It has helped us take control and manage

our own learning. For the next few weeks, it is very important that as a group we maintain teamwork and continue to be

just as organized or a little better, keeping everything up to date. It is also very important that we

preserve the contents that we have learned in this activity and continue to make good use of the tools.

A PLE helps us to learn throughout our lives, at our own pace and according to our needs. It is important for the students, because they learn to learn and discover for themselves the whole world of possibilities that the Internet offers them, as a source of knowledge.

JOURNALIST: Carmen

For this task, we use the first class to clarify with it when Linda finished the explication, then we discussed about the nine tools we have used and once this was done, we designed the diagram template. In addition, we also took the opportunity to distribute the roles of this week.

That same afternoon, we made a Whatsapp call since we live a long distance from each other, and got down to work to finish the diagram in Canva. Since we already had everything planned, it was quick to do, so Rileigh (our star), was able to prepare it very well.

This was the result:

Finally, Rileigh made the presentation, not only explained the diagram but also answered the teacher's questions.

TRANSLATOR: Laura

The key terms we have considered essential to this task are as follows:
PLE: a PLE is the set of tools, sources of information, materials and human resources used by an individual to access new sources of knowledge

Diagram: Diagrams are geometric designs that are made with the aim of graphically representing ideas, processes, solutions, mechanisms or phenomena to facilitate their understanding. The word we use today derives from Latin, although its origin is Greek and is translated as 'scheme'

Telematic environments: Telematics is a term that combines the words telecommunications and informatics to broadly describe the integrated use of communications and information technology to transmit, store and receive information from telecommunications devices to remote objects over a network.

Tool: a device or implement, especially one held in the hand, used to carry out a particular function. It is something that helps you to do a particular activity

Parameters: It is a numerical or other measurable factor forming one of a set that defines a system or sets the conditions of its operation. An arbitrary constant whose value characterizes a member of a system also : a quantity that describes a statistical population.

The weaknesses of the topic may be the percentages because we made an approximation due to the fact that we didn't know the exact percentages. The methodology or tool tackled in this task was PLE (Personal Learning Environment).
